Bungalow Colonies: Stories, History, Memories & Connections
This is the first of 2 Sunnycroft Bungalow Colony clips that I plan to post, both of which are montages made from some of my families old super 8mm film shot during the summers at a bungalow colony called Sunnycroft in Highland Mills (Monroe Township, Orange County) New York. My family and I spent summers there from 1969 to 1974, they were amazing times. The property had once been the former country estate of the famous American composer, George M. Cohan. Today the property is owned by the nearby religious community of Kiryas Joel and has been sadly abandoned. You can read more about various peoples Bungalow Colony experiences and contribute your own at http://bungalows.ning.com I hope you enjoy. Part II is coming soon. Youtube made me replace my 70's disco track, however you can see the clip here with music: Sunnycroft Bungalow Colony - Part 1

Manny, just watched your video and I love that between my last year there and when your film was shot, virtually nothing had changed! Love that the masquerade party still had the parade across the property. Was that Moe I saw sitting at the pool? Our first five years we lived in the bungalow on the third level closest to the pool, so it was a trip to see it in your film. It's also in mine, but it takes a while to get to it. Thanks again for posting this!
