It certainly was blessing to get out of the city and to the country. Well, at least it was the "country" back then. Now the biggest attraction near our old place is Woodbury Commons! Amazing.
I was too young in those days to remember (or be concerned) much of the other areas beyond Monroe, I know we visited some but outside of the occasional visits to an Indian Trading post (or so it was called), an annual trip to Gasho's and some Lobster place in Florida, NY... I simply don't have much to go on. Hopefully we'll keep building the repository of memories here and someone will show up who shares those memories with you.
