Manny thanks for putting this sight together. It helped bring back a lot of great memories of Hillside for me. Like going fishing down at the lake we had on the property when ever we wanted. Taking wood from Mr.Levine the owner to build tree and clubhouses in the woods.Barn fires behind the casino and raiding the laundry room for empty Clorox bottles to fill with water to put them out. The softball games, ring a leaveo games at night and red rover red rover we call whoever over. Watching Neal Armstrong walk on the moon on are little black and white TV"s. Tom Seaver blowing his no hitter in the 9th against the cubs and my Yankees when they stunk and the monuments were still IN centerfield. The swimming pool where everyone had there spots. The casino itself with the pool table, pinball machines and the Juke Box with what turned out to be some of the greatest music of all time. The same summer friends you looked forward to seeing every year. Movie night on Wednesday. Watching our parents getting trashed on Saturday night, they taught us well. Of course being a counselor at SUNNYCROFT That whole time period was awesome. Thanks again
Hi Manny Mike D. I did some google maps. Hillside was on the corner of Ridge Road and Owens Drive. The Woodbury theatre was on the corner of Ridge Road and Seven Springs road that's where I made that right turn Heading up to sunnycroft Then I would make the left onto Bakertown Road and the camp. My fishing hole Hillside lake is still there but buried in the woods. It also looks like your old tennis court is still there with a couple of left over bungalows buried in those woods. Pretty amazing since all this times gone by. Hillside has a few private houses on the old property at least and colonial villa that I mentioned to you is now colonial court with a few houses. Also in the 1975 staff photo the guy standing to my left with the moustache ran the camp but can not remember his name.
