Bungalow Colonies: Stories, History, Memories & Connections
Alan H has not received any gifts yet
Alan! Thanks for signing up to my little bungalow colony web experiment which I hope manages to preserve a bit of history, collect and spark some memories and of course, to connect old friends.
We would have been at Sunny Croft at the same time - take a look at the 1973 camp photo and let me know if you spot yourself in it :). Do you remember where your bungalow was?
Not a lot goes on in this "community" and the interface is quite old (I'm still hanging onto the very inexpensive introductory pricing) but I hope you find some connections and hopefully share some memories and photos or video.
Best,
Manny

Thank you Manny. This is Alan Hyams and we were at Sunnycroft and I believe you were at Rosmarins as well if Im not mistaken. I’ll probably be able to fill in some names and additional information in your photo section.
it was a long time ago and looking at those photos of Sunnycroft almost returned to wilderness it really does feel it.
We had the bungalow closest to the entrance to the pool, at Sunnycroft
Hi Alan,
We were on the same row! I was in the closer unit in the last pair of bungalows at the other end of the pool-level line. We had that same place for about 6 summers, except for the last year that we were there which I believe was 1975, when we rented a guest apartment in a house on the road that ran behind the ball field and paddle ball courts.
It was indeed a long time ago. I haven't seen anyone from Sunny Croft in a very long time - we moved to Bucks County PA in the summer of 1976 and that was the end of our Sunny Croft run. The one exception was Evan Koopman who had been a neighbor/schoolmate of mine in Queens and who I got reconnected to via a very long shot through a work associate of mine about 10 years ago.
My family and I live in Brooklyn near Prospect Park, are you still in NY?
Hi Manny,
Thats right you were in the same row. Near Jeff and his brother Eric, I don’t recall their last name. I do remember you. I remember Evan Koopman too, and his brother whose name escapes me at the moment, and I remember we used to talk about music a lot in later years at Rosmarins.
I moved out of NY more than 30 years ago, lived in VA for several years and now live near Pittsburgh.
